Gicumbi Washed comes Rwanda’s Northern Province, where founder Immy Kamarade built her coffee business in the years following the 1994 genocide. Today, she operates two washing stations. This particular lot is grown at high elevations between roughly 1,850 and 2,000 meters in volcanic soils, then fully washed and sun-dried on African beds. This results in a vivid and polished cup of coffee. In our tasting, plum notes brought a dark fruit richness, milk chocolate added softness, and toffee carried through the finish. It's a Rwandan coffee that balances brightness with comforting depth.
