From the remote hills of Burundi’s Muyinga Province comes Hafi, a vibrant and expressive coffee that speaks to the innovation of its producers. Cultivated by smallholder farmers, this lot undergoes a unique 24- to 48-hour anaerobic natural process—a method honed out of necessity due to the region’s isolation. The result? A jammy, fruit-forward cup with delicate floral notes of honeysuckle, ripe plum sweetness, and a refreshing limeade acidity. Hafi, meaning “near” in Kirundi, reflects the farmers' dream of bringing processing facilities closer to home—and with it, a taste of something truly special.
